MRI stands for Magnetic Resonance Imaging. It's a diagnostic procedure that provides detailed pictures of the inside of the body using a powerful magnet, radio waves, and a computer.

An MRI uses very strong magnetic fields to align all nuclear spins. It then sends an RF pulse that flips tissue's natural polarization bias in different axes which refocuses protons magnetically along pre-determined axes of alignment. B
